The propagandist Margarita Simonyan claims that the father of the Moroccan Saadun Brahim, who was sentenced to execution in the “DPR”, contacted the Arab edition of RT and asked to transfer to President of Russia Vladimir Putin ( Simonyan called him “chief” in the text ) a letter of pardon of his son. She published the translation of a letter on behalf of Tahar Saadun in her Telegram channel.
“Dear Vladimir Vladimirovich! My name is Tahar Saadun. I am the father of the Moroccan student Ibrahim Saadun, who was captured by the military police of the DPR People’s Police during the battle near Mariupol. Dear Vladimir Vladimirovich, my son is 21 years old. In 2019, he came to Ukraine solely in order to continue to study. For three years that he spent in Ukraine, my son traveled to different cities of the country in accordance with the requirements of his educational institution. At the same time, by virtue of his youth, he did not have sufficient life experience and did not know how to choose the right circle of communication. In addition, he was out of direct control on our part, although in Morocco he was constantly under our supervision.
My son was a good young man who had fallen in love with Russia since childhood, so he learned the Russian language. But because of material difficulties, he could not go to study in Russia. In 2021, due to the young age of Ibrahim and the lack of life experience, he was able to fraudulently attract him to military service in the Ukrainian army on a contractual basis. At the same time, he did not notify us and did not consult with us. The environment of Ibrahim contributed to the formation of another person in him, fed by his youthful enthusiasm and youthful denial of established norms.
Russia, guided by humanitarian considerations and trying to end Nazism, began a special military operation in order to save the inhabitants of Donbass from the bloody arbitrariness, which this region has been subjected to since 2014. We did not even suspect that Ibrahim was transferred to the front line of the front in eastern Ukraine, since we completely lost contact with him at the end of March this year. It was a complete surprise for us when we learned that he surrendered to the Russian military in the combat area. At the same time, he was dressed in Ukrainian military uniforms, and he had Ukrainian weapons with him.
I will not hide, dear Vladimir Vladimirovich, that, despite the shock we have experienced, we were delighted that our son was withdrawn from the battlefield and at the same time, the DPR national police retained his life. ”
In the second part of the letter published by Simonyan, his father writes that his son is “a victim of manipulation and flushing the consciousness of inexperienced young people”. He talks about the deterioration of his son’s health, exhaustion and anemia, which has been observed in him since childhood. Saadun also says that he hopes for the mercy and wisdom of Putin, recalling that he himself is a father and “knows about paternal feelings firsthand”, and also “believes in God, who always calls for peace, tolerance and forgiveness of sins.”
“During your reign in Russia, the death penalty was canceled, which became the triumph of life. Dear Vladimir Vladimirovich, we very much hope that you will contribute to the pardon of our son and return a smile and peace to our family, who believes that Ibrahim is confused in this war completely in vain. ”
Earlier, Saadun's father said that his son has Ukrainian citizenship. On June 9, the DPR sentenced three foreign mercenaries to the death executions who took part in the war with Russia on the APU side on the territory of the so -called DPR and LPR. Two British were sentenced to execution through the execution - Aiden Eslin and Sean Pinner, as well as the Moroccan Saadun Brahim.
The Russian Foreign Ministry does not consider the prisoners of war of the British Aiden Eslin and Sean Pinner, said the representative of the department, Maria Zakharova. “Contrary to the statements of British officials, the citizens mentioned are not prisoners of war, but mercenaries. The mercenaries sent to the Kyiv nationalist regime, mercenaries under international humanitarian law are not combatants and are not entitled to prisoner of war, ”Zakharova said. She also stated that the British side did not turn to Eislin and Pinner either to the leadership of the “DPR” or the Foreign Ministry.
The lawyer of the 21-year-old Moroccan Saadun Dmitry Ershov told Lente.ru that he surrendered on March 12 in Volnovakha. According to him, Saadun in 2019 moved to Ukraine, and in 2021 concluded a three-year contract with the Armed Forces and, on the advice of Eslin, got into the 36th separate brigade of the Marine Corps. On April 27, Kommersant wrote about the lawyers of Pinner and Saadun. The publication presented them as "the first and so far the only Russian lawyers who work in the DPR and the LPR." According to Mediazona, it was not possible to find earlier references to their advocacy.
