In Kabardino-Balkaria, the head of the Belaya Rechka village, Takhir Sozaev, was detained.
On July 2, 2022, a criminal case was initiated in Kabardino-Balkaria under Part 2 of Article 280 of the Criminal Code (public calls for extremist activities) against the head of the village of Belaya Rechka Takhir Sozaev. According to media reports, in December 2021, he sent an audio order to the general group of the village, in which he “demanded that all sellers in the village trade only in the Karachay-Balkarian language, and those who speak Russian .... ordered do not serve."
In addition, in the same group, he stated that "all the lands in Belaya Rechka should belong only to the Balkars, and they cannot be sold to Russians and Kabardians."
It is reported that after the detention of Sozaev, there was a fire in the village administration. According to one version of the investigation, supporters of the head of the village may be involved in it.
