"North Stream" stopped for repairs

The North Stream gas pipeline was stopped for planned repairs, which will last from July 11 to 21. This follows from the data of the Operator Nord Stream.

Statistics of supplies on the company's website indicates that gas supply fell to zero between 6 and 7 in the morning. The company previously warned the project partners on the planned prevention of the pipeline. Prior to the stop for prevention, the gas pipeline worked only by 40% of its capacity - Gazprom claimed that without renovated turbines of the German company Siemens, it was possible to maintain gas pumping 100%.

European politicians considered these statements the next pressure of pressure on the European Union by Russia, but as a result, Germany agreed with Canada (there was a repair of turbines) on the transfer of the German unit with the subsequent transfer of Russia. According to Kommersant , the German side will transfer the Gazprom turbine after a planned repair. The publication claims that after the transfer of gas pumping turbines will grow by at least 20%. Delivery of turbines to Russia will take about two weeks, will take a few more days to install.

However, the European side doubts that Gazprom will return the supply of gas to normal, since the Russian company had the opportunity to increase supplies to other gas pipelines, including through Ukraine and Turkey, but the company did not do this.

Due to the problems with the return of Gazprom gas turbines, he reduced the gas supply through the North Stream to 40% of the power of the pipeline. At the moment, the North Stream remains the main export route of Russian gas to Europe. A decrease in gas supplies on it significantly reduces the rate of filling in the gas storage of Europe and creates risks for the heating season.
