The EU imposed sanctions against Sberbank and "Night Wolves"

The European Union included in the seventh package of Sberbank sanctions, the Night Wolves Biker club, military and other persons involved in Russia's aggression against Ukraine and disinformation. This was stated by the head of the EU foreign policy service Josep Borrel on Twitter.

The EU approved a new package of sanctions against Russia on July 21. Within the framework of restrictions, an embargo on Russian gold is set and the control of dual -use goods is intensified. The document will be published in the EU official journal, after which it will enter into force.

Earlier, Borrel said that the Foreign Minister of the EU countries agreed on a new package of sanctions against Russia: it includes 48 individuals, including one of the Deputy Prime Ministers of the Russian government and several regional leaders. According to him, the sanctions will not stop the war in Ukraine, but they should create many economic problems of Russia. According to the “present” with reference to the draft document that the source in the diplomatic circles of the EU transferred to the publication, the first deputy prime minister of Russia Andrei Belousov, Moscow mayor Sergei Sobyanin and two folk artists of Russia-Sergey Bezrukov and Vladimir Mashkov for supporting Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The European Commission offered the seventh package of sanctions against Russia on July 15. Before that, the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, Peter Fiala, said that he would not include a restriction on the import of Russian gas. According to him, this is due to the fact that with the introduction of new sanctions, the rule must be observed according to which they should have a greater impact on Russia than on the countries introducing them.
