Attack on a black man in St. Petersburg
In St. Petersburg, two young men beat up a black man.
On July 31, 2022 in St. Petersburg, on Navy Day, near one of the houses on 1st Sovetskaya Street, two young people attacked 43-year-old black passer-by Sam Bellaz.
The attack was accompanied by shouts of "You are an American! People like you are killing our soldiers." In response, the black man shouted that he was "from Africa." However, this did not stop the beating. The attackers hit Bellaz in the face, after which he lost consciousness and fell to the pavement. Passers-by called an ambulance and the police.
The victim was hospitalized at the Mariinsky hospital in St. Petersburg with a closed craniocerebral injury, concussion and shoulder dislocation.
Police officers in hot pursuit detained a 36-year-old resident of the city of Yevgeny and a 31-year-old resident of Lipetsk Sergey. They were taken to the police station.
