In Russian pharmacies, the urological drug Dripan (oxibutinin), which is necessary for children with injuries and tumors of the spine and impaired function of the bladder, ended. The drug will not appear until the spring of 2023, while there is nothing to replace dripper for children under 14 years of age. This was written by Kommersant with reference to the founder of the Fund for Assistance to Children with Congenital Spine Bifida (Spina Bifida), Bifida Inna Inyushkina, an American manufacturer of Abbott and Roszdravnadzor.
Abbott explained the interruptions in "updating of production processes." Both Roszdravnadzor and the company note that the lack of the drug is not associated with anti -Russian sanctions.
A children's urologist, a member of the Spina Bifida Consulty University Clinic of St. Petersburg State University Anna Shchedrina told the publication that dripan is the only drug allowed according to the instructions for patients under the age of 14 for the treatment of intra-skipped hypertension (high pressure in the bladder). Driptan is also necessary for children with spinal injuries, spinal cord, spine tumors, organic lesions and functional disorders of the bladder, including an enuree. Shchedrin believes that we can talk about dozens or hundreds of thousands of patients.
In addition, in children who already receive dripan, "the functions of the bladder are adjusted." According to Shchedrina, if they are losing the drug, they will roll back in their condition. Therefore, the proportion of children with chronic kidney disease and severe forms of urinary incontinence can grow, Shchedrin warns.
The main freelance children's surgeon of the Ministry of Health of Russia Dmitry Morozov, on the contrary, argues that "in general, patients who are shown this drug is a little in the world." According to him, there are group analogues of this drug, including Russian production, with a similar effect. But they are allowed from the age of 18, and one drug is from the age of 14. It is possible to prescribe analogues of children under 14 years of age only by decision of the medical commission, Morozov emphasizes.
According to Roszdravnadzor, on August 1, in civilian circulation in the regions there are 18,812 packages of Driptan. The head of Roszdravnadzor Alla Samoilova sent a letter to the regions on July 26, which reported that the company decided to suspend Driptan’s appeal “in connection with the need to conduct additional tests of this series of the drug for compliance with the requirements of regulatory documentation for the“ related impurities ”indicator. The bodies of Roszdravnadzor were instructed to control the withdrawal from the circulation of the specified Driptan series.
On March 14, Abbott published a statement on the suspension of secondary business activities in Russia, including new investments, business development and advertising over the war in Ukraine. Then the company assured that the supply of drugs will continue. No other ABBOTT drug has deduced from Russia.
At the end of June, Kommersant reported that a shortage of preferential drugs arose in hospital pharmacies: difficulties arose with drugs more than 700 rubles and cheap medicines worth 200 rubles. Among the drugs, which are missing most: anti -epileptic agents, drugs that reduce blood pressure, insulins and sugar -lowering agents, “foreign effective” psychotropic drugs, drugs for the treatment of thyroid diseases.
This is not the first problem that the Russian pharmaceutical industry faces after the outbreak of war. In May, the head of the scientific examination of the pharmaceutical venture fund Inbio Ventures, Ilya Yasny, in a conversation with The Insider said that in Russia, reagents are ending for laboratory tests, as well as problems with the production of drugs and disinfection, in particular hydrogen peroxide.
