"Energoatom": As a result of the shelling of Energodar, 10 civilians were injured, four of them are employees of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant

Ukrainian "Energoatom" said that as a result of shelling from Russia, four residential quarters of Energodar and Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plants were injured. In total, 10 civilians suffered.

According to Dmitry Orlov, the mayor of the city, which is now controlled by the Russian military, people received numerous fragmentation injuries, the two are in intensive care in serious condition.

Energodar residential quarters were shelling on August 28. Russia and Ukraine accused each other of shelling.

The fact that the Magate Mission finally went to inspect the station was announced on August 29 by the agency CEO Rafael Grossy. The mission is already on the way and will arrive at the station at the end of the week. “We must ensure the safety of the largest nuclear facility of Ukraine and Europe,” he wrote.

Energoatom emphasizes that everything that the Russian military is doing at the station creates risks for its work. According to them, Russians store weapons, equipment, explosives there. All this creates a threat of hydrogen leakage, spraying of radioactive substances, risk of fires.

On August 25, the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant was first completely disconnected from the power supply and switched to reserve generators and power on the ZAES -Zaporizhzhya TPP line. According to The Insider, energy, without a reserve power, a sharp shutdown of the ZAES from the power transmission lines can lead to melting the reactor.

According to the nuclear physicist Andrei Ozharovsky, the Russian authorities can use the station to be turned off as an excuse to connect it to Crimea. But this will require the restoration of power lines towards Crimea and Russia and the synchronization of generators with the Russian energy system.
