The European Union will suspend the issuance of visas to Russian citizens in a simplified manner. The full ban on the issuance of visas will not be introduced. This was announced according to the results of two -day negotiations of ministers of the EU, held in Prague.

The suspension of the simplified regime will cancel the preferential regime for Russians when applying for all European visas. Now they will need more documents to apply for receipt, and the procedure itself will become more expensive and will occupy much more time.

Earlier about the intentions of the EU wrote Financial Times. The source of the publication, who took part in the negotiations, said that “Russian tourists are inappropriate to walk” through European cities: “We must send a signal to the Russian population that this war is unacceptable, it is unacceptable.”

Earlier, the Czech Republic, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia ceased to issue visas to the Russians. Denmark and the Netherlands stopped issuing short -term visas. Finland said that from September 1, it would reduce the issuance of tourist visas to Russians ten times.

The deadlines for the issuance of visas to Russians can grow up to six months due to the abolition by the European Union of a simplified regime, the number of multiple Schengen visas issued, the Association of Tour operators of Russia said .
