The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Serbia, Alexander Vulin, said that neither Russia nor Ukraine demanded the extradition of the ex-head of the Main Directorate of Internal Security of the SBU Andrei Naumov. In order for Naumov to extradite to Russia, the trial against him should be carried out first in Russia, and Russia should have requested its extradition with us. I don’t know if there is a case against Naumov in Russia, but I know that Russia did not request his extradition. ”
According to him, after Naumov was detained, interrogated and transferred to the prosecutor's office, the police "had absolutely nothing to do with him." Now, according to the Serbian Minister, Naumov is under the jurisdiction of the judiciary and the Ministry of Internal Affairs does not have jurisdiction of him. In this case, the decision on the issuance is made by the Ministry of Justice. The Embassy of Ukraine offered Naumov legal assistance, but he abandoned it “for reasons known to him,” Vulin emphasized.
“Summing up, Naumov is in custody in a niche, as a suspect of money laundering, refuses to contact his embassy, neither Ukraine, nor Russia asked us about its extradition, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs has the slightest opportunity to decide on him or his extradition.
