Ex-President of Georgia, Mikhail Saakashvili, published a statement that says that the Russians running to Georgia from mobilization should constantly “remind you that they are the invaders”. At the same time, he refused to criticize the Georgian authorities who let such men into the country.
“The mass outcome of Russian conscripts to Georgia creates a great demographic danger to this small country, as well as serious security problems. Society is very negative. On the other hand, I will not even suturely condemn the decision of the Georgian authorities to miss them, since the more these men in Georgia, the fewer Ukrainians will die. And this is important for Georgia.
At the same time, Georgian civil society should always remind the newcomers all the time that they are invaders and harshly monitor so that they would not buy Georgian passports in order to deprive them of the possibility of interference in the domestic policy of Georgia. We must also create incentives all the time so that they go to Turkey as much as possible and other countries. ”
According to the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs, about 78 thousand citizens of the Russian Federation entered Georgia from September 17 to 26, and more than 62 thousand left.
