The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Estonia: more than a thousand refugees who were waiting on the border in the Pskov region were taken away in an unknown direction

Trucks from the Russian side took about a thousand refugees in an unknown direction, waiting for their turn in the Pskov region to pass the border with Estonia. This was announced by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Estonia Lauri Laurinemets, he is quoted by the local agency ERR.

“A little more than a thousand people were waiting on the border, but today they were gone - they were put in trucks and taken away. We do not know where. The police are currently clarifying the information. ”

According to the minister, now Estonian border guards are trying to find out, including with the help of drones, where the refugees were taken away. The security forces find out whether people transferred to the border zone, as Belarus did last year on the border with Lithuania and Latvia.

In recent weeks, a line of several thousand people has formed on the Russian side of the border with Estonia. Basically, the border was expected by Ukrainian refugees, the procedure took several days. Lyuanemette said that Estonia established contact with the Embassy of Ukraine to verify information about the citizens of Ukraine trying to leave the Russian Federation.

On September 30, the adviser to the Governor of the Pskov region Anton Sergeev told TASS that the queues in the border regions of the Pskov region had caused an “non -metmal work” of the border services of Estonia and Latvia. According to him, local authorities organize conditions for people awaiting control.

In early August, the Prochrevsky media reported that about 3.2 million Ukrainian refugees voluntarily arrived in Russia since the beginning of the war. However, the Ukrainian side has repeatedly said that these people were delivered from Ukraine by force. In July, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukrainians who have been taken out in the Russian Federation select communications and documents, as well as intimidated and delivered to remote areas of the country to complicate the return home. At the same time, all deported ones force filtration camps - the US authorities discovered at least 18 such places that began to prepare before the invasion of Ukraine.

In September, the Civil Proposal Committee (the Russian public charitable organization of refugee assistance) said that the number of people who left or forcibly moved from Ukraine to Russia turned out to be an order of magnitude less than the Russian authorities were declared.
