Russians may encounter alcohol deficiency on the eve of the New Year due to the mass outcome of foreign alcohol producers and difficulties with logistics caused by sanctions restrictions. Domestic manufacturers are trying to replace foreign brands, however, according to the latitude of the assortment, they definitely will not be able to do this in such a short time, and the prices for “Russian analogues” due to the fall of competition will be much higher. This is written by Izvestia with reference to the data of the Association of Retail Companies (Acort).
Foreign alcohol reserves in Russia are coming to an end, and new supplies of famous brands are not expected in the near future, noted in acort. We are talking about whiskey brands Aberfeldy, Dewars, Jack Daniels and Grants, the Baileys and Sheridan liqueurs ends. The reserves of European brands of cognac and tequila are rapidly reduced, and there are no worthy alternative to commodity positions in Russia - Russian counterparts are simply not enough.
“We see a serious reduction in the range of imported alcohol: the representation of whiskey on the shelves decreased by 50%, champagne - by 95%, imported beer - by 40%, by the remaining categories - by 35%. Now networks are practically selling warehouse residues, and in the next two months we may encounter a shortage of popular products, ”said Igor Karavaev, chairman of the presidium of the Acort, Presidium of the Presidium.
In the spring, the American Brown-Forman (Jack Daniel's and Finlandia), British Diageo (Johnnie Walker, Bell's, White Horse, Smirnoff, Sheridan's, Captain Morgan, Guinness,, British. Gordon's), problems began at Bacardi (Martini and Chinzano), which did not leave the Russian market, but on the contrary, intends to restore deliveries to the country. The acort warns that the fall of an alcoholic assortment can undermine retail networks, whose revenue depends significantly on alcoholic sales. Moreover, there is a real risk of growth of counterfeit and poor -quality alcohol on the shelves.
“Some part of demand can shift to other categories, but there is a serious risk that the consumer will try to look for alcohol in the shadow sales channels, not finding the usual drink on the store shelf,” Karavaev is sure.
Rosalkogolregoling (RAR) claims that there will be no alcohol deficiency on the eve of the New Year. The agency is sure that Russian manufacturers will be able to offer Russians a sufficient amount of alcohol and satisfy demand. In favor of this position, the growth of alcohol production is also indicated by Russian companies - since the beginning of the year it has increased by 12.3%. However, business still doubts the success of the domestic alcohol industry and asked the Ministry of Industry and Trade to extend parallel imports to foreign alcohol.
At the moment, the idea was hanging in the Ministry of Finance, which continues to evaluate risks. Experts say that the resolution of parallel import of alcohol products of foreign brands will create the risks of filling the Russian market for counterfeit products, as well as low -quality alcohol or frank fakes that will pose a real threat to the life of Russians.
