Why the "greenhouse" was politicized. And why it was necessary (for a long time) to be politicized by everyone

Recently, we sent readers a newsletter with a questionnaire calling to tell what they like or do not like in a greenhouse. Among the reviews I met this: “I stopped reading your channel [in Telegram] after it became very politicized in connection with the events in Ukraine.” And a few more such remarks.

I consider it important to answer them, since it is, to put it mildly, unexpectedly.

The fact is that a catastrophe has long happened to us as a society, but we, it turns out, did not notice. The first flashes flashed in the late nineties, and the explosion itself sounded in the tenths: we were weaned from politics.

More precisely, like this: we gave our political will in exchange for the opportunity not to fool around with the hateful after (post) of the Soviet school “Walking Building” and doing our own business.

When I say “us”, I certainly generalize - political activists may not read further.

So, a lesson with neglect of the common cause (in Latin “Res Publica”) took place many times in different countries and at different times. As soon as citizens cease to get involved in politics, the state of the greyhound and begins to strangle them. At first - figuratively and one by one, then - real and in whole groups.

It works - always.

And unfortunately, it happened to us too.

We were convinced that politics is something dirty, which we don’t have to climb and that it is better to shun, so as not to get silent about other people's business interests and not to be a fool who stands with a poster, and political technologists are divided behind him. It is better to grow your small one - or, conversely, a breathtaking scale - a matter. And do not go into politics ...

I write this text and do not fully understand - are these the testimony of a witness or the accused?

In 1945, Thomas Mann quoted his friend, no less famous writer German Hesse: “The Germans are a great, significant nation. Who will deny! Maybe even the salt of the earth. But as a political nation, they are impossible. In this regard, I want to break with them once for all. ”

The same can be said about us. Legally, we are not to blame for the war, but morally - responsible. Our projects are pretty, but politically we do not exist.

It was this non -existence that allowed the annexation of Crimea, the militarization of the Lugansk and Donetsk regions, and, finally, the war with the monstrous crimes against the civilian population in Buch, Irpen, Rosyum and other locations. We woke up by citizens of the killer state. After all, even if you do not like Americans, you agree, you should not bomb, torture and shoot neighbors.

In other words, we wanted to live a barrel-piece, bypassing all the Scylles and Haribda of the vile era, but it did not work out. The apolitical lifestyle brought us to the gaps, where Scylla devours the Ukrainians, and Haribda pulls the tentacles to your loved ones, or maybe to you. Hiding in the sink of your favorite business will no longer be possible. But politicized - you have to.

To do this, you have to learn forgotten things.

For example, to recall the experience of Soviet dissidents regarding conspiracy, as well as add to it knowledge of digital security and, in particular, anonymousization of their actions . In a situation where any public will is punished first with a fine and prison, protest rallies make sense in only one case: if millions participate in them.

Therefore, it is necessary to convince fellow citizens against war-personally, in chats, on Internet sites-but act neatly so as not to become a sacrifice of raids or massive high-precision denunciations and provocations. To do this, it would be great for us to master the skills of effective network communication. Especially when you consider that network communication is so far the only possibility of collective action.

Such an anti -war movement covering the whole of Russia would be the first step in the return of politics to itself, and with it - and the chances of the future without state violence. In order for such a movement to become truly noticeable (now its active part is estimated at a maximum of a million people), you will have to remember how to unite for collective actions and communicate constructively and honestly.

It is in everyday violence and cunning that the root of evil and Koshcheev is the needle in the egg. It is impossible to deal with Putinism, by force and distorting each other. Therefore, it is so important, without any reservations and ridicule, careful communication .

Yes, in the last decade we began to engage in our Hard Skills, that is, technological literacy, but still terribly sags on Soft Skills - the ability to interact and build long -term projects based on unified values. Building something quickly is not a problem. To build something at least for decades, having provided continuity, - we were not taught to this.

This is the first, but the most important step. Then it is necessary to learn to argue with the opponents, despising, perhaps, their point of view, but holy revered the right to express it (with the exception of calls for crimes against the person), and not kill them. If we learn to discuss this, at the moment when it is necessary to repeat the exit on the streets, as in 1991, millions will join the demars.

This is a possible script. I cannot say that it is realized or necessary as an imperative. But I am sure that we all need to be politicized in this sense.

Things are bad, and if the Russians still hide from politics, life will become even worse. On the horizon of two years, apathetic Russia is waiting for an almost complete shutdown of the Internet, direct censorship and a completely humiliating digital surveillance. This is not an illusory script.

This is how the topics of technological education and development of civil society are connected. And that is why I was amazed when I read the complaints that the greenhouse was politicized. Once we are engaged in activism, we are already open to changes. The moment came to those who left, and those who remained, unite and participate in the anti -war movement .

Over a quarter of a century, we professed our Res Publica and “suddenly” woke up in a basement with bloody spots on the walls. People who pressed the tanks of our fathers make plans for our children in the literal sense of the word. It is high time to recognize the policy of an irreversible, most important part of life and to assume responsibility not only for your project, but also for our common one.
