On October 31, the young man was visited by his lawyer Evgeny Griv, hired by an anti-fascist support group, and questioned about the violence to which he was subjected. The next day, Brik was transferred from pre-trial detention center No. 1 in the Tyumen region to a small pre-trial detention center in Zavodoukovsk, 100 km from the regional center.
Kirill Brik said that he was detained along with another defendant in the case, Deniz Aydin, in the area of Tyumen Heat and Power Plant-2, and already in the police car he was struck several times on the head. After that, take them to the police station for questioning. “They handcuffed me behind my back,” Brick recalls. “Then they put a sheet of A-4 paper all over my face and wrapped it around my head with tape, as a result of which I was deprived of the opportunity to see anyone and it was impossible to breathe normally in the absence of air access and the release of copious amounts of sweat that got into my eyes".
“After that, they began to demand that I confess to committing crimes by manufacturing an explosive device and engaging in terrorist activities. At the same time, I was repeatedly dropped from a chair to the floor, my arm joints were twisted, and I was hit multiple times on the head with the back of my hand. At some time, due to this kind of influence on me from law enforcement officers, I stopped understanding what else was used to strike me.”
According to the anti-fascist, the beatings lasted about 3 hours. The blows were delivered by several people, accompanied by obscene words and demands to confess to the crime. As a result, he agreed to give the confession that was demanded of him. To do this, Brick had to memorize the prepared testimony given to him on a piece of paper and retell it to one of the investigators.
Despite this, according to the anti-fascist, periodic beatings and insults continued throughout the night. He was never able to sleep, and the next day they demanded another testimony from him - that he and Aydin allegedly jointly manufactured an explosive device with the aim of blowing up railway lines in Tyumen and Yekaterinburg.
“However, I declared my refusal to give this kind of testimony, since they are obviously false and have nothing to do with reality. To which this ORCH employee began to threaten me and forced me to my knees using physical force. When I began to resist, he told me that if I didn’t say this, he would insert a handle or a mop handle into my anus. As a result of this, I agreed to give the testimony indicated by him,” the anti-fascist told the lawyer.
