The leader of the Bashkir cell of “USSR citizens” was convicted

Maxim Gorokhovsky received a suspended sentence for organizing the activities of an extremist organization.

On December 7, 2022, it became known that the Leninsky District Court of Ufa found guilty under Art. 282.2 of the Criminal Code (organization of the activities of an extremist organization) of 48-year-old Maxim Gorokhovsky, head of a cell of the organization "Union of Slavic Forces of Rus'" banned in Russia. (We are talking about the movement of citizens of the USSR Taraskin, recognized as an extremist organization and banned on the territory of the Russian Federation on August 16, 2019).

According to media reports, the head of the cell posted a video on VKontakte to attract like-minded people. In this video, he "sought to involve new supporters in the activities of the community, promoted the denial of Russia as a state and the laws in force on the territory ... of the country, and persuaded citizens to oppose the authorities of all levels." During the search, leaflets, newspapers and handwritten materials were confiscated from him.

The court sentenced him to imprisonment for 3 years conditionally with a probationary period for 2 years.

In February 2022, the Supreme Court of Bashkiria declared eight texts of the Bashkir ASSR movement, led by Maxim Gorokhovsky, to be extremist.
