Resident of the Astrakhan region convicted of calls for Islamic terrorism

In the Astrakhan region, a local resident received 2 years in a strict regime colony for public calls for terrorism.

In January 2023, the Southern District Military Court delivered a sentence under Part 2 of Art. 205.2 of the Criminal Code (public calls for terrorist activities). The verdict came into force.

According to the FSB of Russia in the Astrakhan region, a resident of the region, born in 1995, posted "public calls for terrorist activities against those who do not profess Islam" on one of the popular social networks.

The Astrakhan citizen will serve his sentence in a general regime colony. Sources
