Beijing admitted that the reconnaissance ball, previously noticed over Latin America, belongs to China. The statement of the Chinese Foreign Ministry is given by Interfax.

According to the agency, the balloon “seriously deviated” from the course due to weather conditions, as well as what was shot down before in the United States. In the statement of the Foreign Ministry, the ball is called "Chinese civil aircraft." However, the United States classify it as a reconnaissance.

In early February, the Chinese balloon balloon hung over the United States. Initially, the Pentagon stated that they did not intend to knock it down, since it can cause damage when falling in residential areas, and from the point of view of intelligence, China has similar information thanks to the satellites. But later the United States still shot down a white ball, after which the Chinese authorities protested about this.
