In Belgorod, the FSB officers detained the former mayor of the city of Anton Ivanov, reports the Light. According to the publication, he is suspected of receiving bribes on an especially large scale.

Ivanov headed the Belgorod administration in December 2021, but already in October next year filed a dismissal. As the Governor of the Belgorod Region Vyacheslav Gladkov reported , "in connection with the transition to another job." The Lanter notes that after the resignation, the official disappeared from public space and did not advertise what he is doing now.

In December, Gladkov recalled Ivanov, saying that he did not fulfill his assignment and did not organize the purchase of sleeping supplies for kindergartens.
