In the UK there was a company owned by Vladimir Saldo, the head of the Russian occupation administration of the Kherson region, which was included in the British sanctions list. According to The Guardian, Grainholding Ltd. With a legal address in the Khatton-Garden trading zone, London, was registered in November last year.
The balance was included in the UK sanctions list five months earlier, in June 2022, which meant a ban on the entry and freezing of all assets in the country. It is noted that the registration chamber of Great Britain does not require confirmation of the individual when creating companies. The representative of the government, to which The Guardian turned to the commentary, refused to inform if some actions were taken against Grainholding Ltd. The member of the parliament from the Labor, Margaret Khoja said that "this system is a mess from beginning to end."
As follows from the company's documents, its assets are estimated at £ 1 pounds. Half of the company belongs to the balance, and the second one half to another citizen of Ukraine.
The publication notes that the UK government considers economic pressure as the key part of the efforts aimed at weakening Russia and stopping the war, but the law by which the creation of British companies from the sanctions list would be considered a crime was not adopted.
The balance is also included in the sanctions lists of the United States and the European Union.
