
The Angarsk City Court of the Irkutsk Region satisfied the petition of the son of the former governor of the region Andrei Levchenko for parole and decided to release him from the colony, the press service of the court reports .
For two years and two months, Levchenko will have to be celebrated in the FSIN. He is also forbidden to change their place of residence and visit entertainment institutions from 22 hours to 7 hours.
Andrei Levchenko was detained in September 2020. In July 2022, he was sentenced to 9 years in a colony on charges of fraud and restricting competition with income. He was accused of illegally receiving income from the Irkutsk capital repairs fund, with which the company he created in Moscow entered into contracts to replace elevators. The prosecutor's office estimated the total illegally extracted income at almost 1 billion rubles. In March 2023, the court softened Levchenko’s punishment up to 6 years in prison.
In 2018, Levchenko elected to the Legislative Assembly of the Irkutsk Region from the Communist Party.
