"New" accused the Yangulbaev brothers of setting up a fugitive security forces. The brothers called him a "military criminal" and "mole"

In the Omsk region, at the automobile border post, Isilkul, while trying to cross the border with Kazakhstan on May 20, was detained by 19-year-old resident of Chechnya Yasin Khalidov. New Gazeta writes that this is a former Chechen police officer who is pursued for abandoning the service. The article also states that the Chechen human rights activists brothers Yangulbaev promised to help Khalidov with the shoot, but deceived him and condemned him to his faithful death. The brothers themselves told The Insider that Khalidov is a “military criminal”, and the author of the article Elena Milashina is conducting a campaign to denigrate them.

What did the New Gazeta say

• Yasin Khalidov, whose deceased father served in the FSB, staged a police at the age of 17, when he did not even have a school certificate. Then he was transferred to the Service of the Russian Guard, and in September 2022 he was sent to Ukraine, where he spent four months. While in Ukraine, Khalidov tried to quit the service, but he was not released, and also threatened the criminal case of terrorism if he continues to leave;
• Returning to Chechnya in January, Khalidov fled and turned to Ibrahim and Baysangur Yangulbaev, who are known as human rights activists, as well as administrators of the Chechen Telegram channel 1 Aatat. They promised to help with the shoot, although they did not have the experience of such operations, and demanded that Khalidov transfer information about the Chechen police and their participation in the war. The fugitive policeman forcedly agreed, but asked not to publish anything from the information he had transferred until he was safe outside of Russia;
• The Yangulbaevs deceived Khalidov and in early April published an investigation under the heading "Federal Terrorism". They blocked Khalidov in messengers and did not help him;
• Khalidov “at the last moment” turned to other human rights activists, and when they contacted Yangulbaev, they replied: “If the Kadyrovites kill the Kadyrovts, then he needs it”;
• Khalidova will probably be handed over to the Chechen security officials. Relatives of a fugitive policeman have already "were detained and subjected to physical and psychological pressure."

After the detention at the border post, Khalidov was handed over to the employees of the Center for Combating Extremism (CPE) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Omsk. The NEW on duty reported that the young man was detained because he was on the federal wanted list at the request of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the city of Shali of the Chechen Republic. “After the Khalidov’s transfer to Chechnya, most likely on an airplane tonight or tomorrow morning, it will be officially placed in the IVS of the city of Shali,” the duty unit said.

Ibrahim and Baysangur Yangulbaeva, in an interview with The Insider, said that Yasin Khalidov, despite the young age, was involved in many crimes and could be dangerous for those who were abroad of Chechen dissidents if he managed to implement on their environment.

What Yangulbaevs say

• While in Ukraine, Khalidov committed certain “war crimes”;
• Khalidov worked for organs from the age of 14, engaged in provocations, recruiting Chechen youth to participate in attacks on the “Kadyrovites”, after which they planted or killed the victims of these provocations;
  
• Khalidov began troubles with the authorities due to drugs and the fact that he, participating in the patrol of the paid-in Energodar (Zaporizhzhya region), was unauthorized “was engaged in crime” regarding the local population;
  
• Having learned the details of the biography of Khalidov, Yangulbaev decided that he wanted to run not because of remorse, but out of fear of punishment;
• Ibrahim Yangulbaev wrote to Elena Milashina with a request to help Khalidov when he only turned to them, but she did not answer;
• Yangulbaev planned to publish the details of Khalidov’s biography if he was able to get out of Russia, as they feared that he would continue to work for the Chechen authorities and would “knock” on the opposition who were abroad;
• The investigation of “Federal Terrorism” does not mention the name of Khalidov, and he himself was on the federal wanted list before the publication;
• Khalidov turned to the Chechen human rights organization Vaimond, but Yangulbaev is convinced that its employees could not help Khalidov flee.
