Johnson & Johnson will stop supplying contact lenses to Russia. The company occupied up to 50% of the Russian lens market

The American company Johnson & Johnson will stop the supply of contact lenses to Russia, which has warned its Russian partners. At the same time, as Interfax told Dmitry Torobinsky, general director of the Distributor, Dmitry Pogrebinsky, no such warnings were received about other products of J& J.

According to Pogrebinsky, no contact lenses should be feared, since none of the foreign suppliers has left the Russian market to date. “Even if Johnson & Johnson for some reason (logistics or some other) will stop supplying contact lenses, there are other companies that are delivering them,” the businessman said.

The press service of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia distributed an application that states that if the supply of contact lenses stops, the department will quickly consider their inclusion in the list of goods of parallel import.

Shops surveyed on the eve of Kommersant FM believe, on the contrary, that Russia faces a shortage of contact lenses or at least a tangible increase in prices. According to one of the interlocutors of the radio station, J& J Lenses occupied 40-50% of the Russian market.

On May 19, the US Department of Trade expanded the list of goods that are forbidden to supply to Russia, and contact lenses and sunglasses fell into their number.
