In Volgograd, political scientist Mikhail Serenko was detained for the “aiding of the rebellion” of the Wagner PMC - “Notepad Volgograd”

On June 24, a political scientist, publicist Mikhail Serenko, was detained in Volgograd, reports notebook Volgograd. He is accused of aiding the rebellion of the PMC Wagner.

At about 22 o’clock in the apartment in which the political scientist lives with his family, six armed people and investigator burst. Serenko’s wife said that the security forces confiscated almost all of the equipment, except for personal mobile phones and two old tablets.

She also noted that her husband was not allowed to call a lawyer. According to her, the investigator told Serenko that "he supposedly came in connection with the criminal case of the rebellion of the PMC of Wagner."

The lawyer, who was able to get through to the political scientist after Serenko was taken away in an unknown direction, said that the criminal case is in the Investigative Committee, and the article is still “specified”.

Later, the political scientist was released, and he said that he was interviewed as a witness:

I said that I do not know any of this company, I know only with the father of one of the fighters, Grandfather is already 70 years old. Investigators are well done, competent guys. They interviewed me, they explained everything and released me.

On June 24, the Prosecutor General’s Office stated that the FSB Investigative Department aroused the case “on the organization of the armed rebellion” against the head of the PMC Vagner Evgeny Prigozhin. In the evening of the same day, after Prigozhin began to allocate his forces from the territory of Russia, the press secretary of Vladimir Putin Dmitry Peskov said that the criminal case against the head of the PMC Wagner would be terminated.
