He was being treated for cancer, he beat his employees, he wanted war communism. “Project” told the details of the biography of Yevgeny Prigozhin

The investigative publication “Project” published details of the biography of Yevgeny Prigozhin, which were not previously widely known. In particular, journalists found out that the founder of the PMC beat his subordinates, was being treated for cancer, and was also a supporter of war communism.

All the sources the Project spoke with noted Prigozhin’s hot temper. “If you were dissatisfied with something, you could easily take you out into the corridor, push you, and you would fly down the stairs,” said one of them. Another interlocutor of the publication told the following story: “One day Prigozhin was in a hurry and displeasedly kicked the driver in the head from the back seat: “Like, let’s go faster.” After this incident, the driver quit.”

Violence was rampant in Prigozhin’s office; there was a special person there for this purpose, eyewitnesses say.

“This is an executioner who fucks you in the basement, and he sends you [Prigozhin] a photo, and you decide whether to add more [strikes] or enough,” said Vyacheslav Tarasov, in the past one of the important employees of the office, in his video message on the day of the riot on June 24.

“Project” published an example of how Prigozhin communicates with a subordinate, for example, with a PR department employee who prepared advertising layouts:

“The billboards are TOTAL SHIT, the rest is just the press breakfast, the rest is TOO SHIT, in general, a COMPLETELY STUPID BASTARD!!!”

The Project also showed the same photograph with the severed heads of Africans, which was previously reported in the media. It was found framed during a search of Prigozhin’s house. Fontanka previously reported about this photo, but this is the first time the photo has been published without cuts.

Prigozhin's acquaintances say that he had specific views, he was a supporter of military communism. In particular, former employee Vyacheslav Tarasov, in his address to Prigozhin on the day of the rebellion, said:

“Your ideal is war communism, and what excites you most about it is executions. Of course, “for the good of the homeland,” but you will personally decide who to shoot; there is no law, only your opinion and your decision. The helicopter crews won’t let you lie.”

As Project found out from Prigozhin’s acquaintances, the founder of the PMC was treated for abdominal cancer for a long time and underwent serious therapy. “He had cancer. Now the process of tumor formation seems to have stopped,” said one of the publication’s interlocutors.

Due to his illness, Prigozhin follows a strict diet and leads a healthy lifestyle - for example, one of his long-term employees only once saw the boss drink a glass of lemonade. Despite the fact that during searches of Prigozhin’s house they found briquettes with a certain “white powder”, the Project’s interlocutors say that they have never seen him take drugs. “Since he first got sick and then recovered, he forbade everyone from communicating with drug traffickers in Africa or Syria. They’ll put you in a hole,” said one of his subordinates.

People around Prigozhin tend to attribute the rebellion to his impulsive nature. He himself, when asked what it was, allegedly answered his employees like this: “I went crazy.”
