The head of the foreign intelligence service Sergei Naryshkin at the end of June spoke on the phone with the director of the CIA William Burns about the war in Ukraine. He told TASS about this.

“The pretext for a telephone conversation, as I evaluate, was the events of the American colleague on June 24,” said Naryshkin, referring, apparently, Evgeny Prigozhin's rebellion. “It is clear how I answered this question about what happened,” he said.

At the same time, according to Naryshkin, "the main part of the conversation was focused on discussing the topic and events around Ukraine." “They thought, reasoned, but what to do with Ukraine,” he said.

The conversation, as the director of the SVR claims, lasted more than an hour. Naryshkin did not exclude what he would still talk to Burns on the phone, but added that a personal meeting was not planned yet.
