Convicted for swearing allegiance to ISIS

Prisoner Nikita Potselov extended his stay in the colony.

On June 28, 20232, the Southern District Military Court of Rostov-on-Don delivered a sentence under Part 2 of Art. 205.5 of the Criminal Code (participation in the activities of a terrorist organization) to Nikita Potselov.

According to the court, Potselov, while serving his sentence in a correctional facility in Stavropol, on February 18, 2021, took an oath of allegiance to the head of the banned Islamic State organization. He recorded the oath using a mobile phone and sent it to the head of this terrorist organization.

The defendant was found guilty, he was sentenced according to the cumulative sentences of the Kuzminsky District Court of Moscow and the present sentence in the form of imprisonment for a term of 10 years and 6 months in a special regime correctional colony with the first 3 years in prison.
