In Vladivostok, a musician was fined 120 thousand rubles in the case of repeated discrediting of the army

The reason for the criminal prosecution was the publications of Sergei Tokhteev on VKontakte.

On January 22, 2024, the Pervorechensky District Court of Vladivostok sentenced a local resident, musician Sergei Tokhteev to a fine of 120 thousand rubles. He was found guilty under Part 1 of Art. 280.3 of the Criminal Code (repeated discrediting of the use of Russian armed forces). In addition to the main punishment, the Vladivostok resident was banned from administering Internet resources for three years, and his phone was also confiscated.

The case against the musician became known on July 28, 2023. The reason for the persecution of Tokhteev was publications on VKontakte. The case involves five episodes; the posts were made in September-November 2022. The exact content of the posts is unknown.

The musician was charged in the case in June; previously he was sent for an outpatient psychiatric examination, and on August 17 he was sent for examination to a hospital. On October 16, 2023, the materials of the criminal case were submitted to the court for consideration.

In June 2022, Tokhteev was fined 30 thousand rubles under Part 1 of Art. 20.3.3 Code of Administrative Offenses (discrediting the Russian army). Then the reason for the fine was also publications on VKontakte: the musician posted several pictures and comments on the social network in which he criticized the Russian armed forces and the Z and V symbols, and also talked about the tragic events in Bucha.
