China introduces control over the export of drones to prevent their use for military purposes

Since September 1, China introduces export control against drones and components to them. As Reuters reports with reference to the statement of the representative of the Ministry of Trade of the PRC, restrictions will affect some engines, lasers, communications systems, and drone protection systems. Exports of civilian drones are also prohibited for use for military purposes.

The representative of the ministry emphasized that this step testifies to China's commitment to "global security and maintaining peace around the world." The authorities of the KRN have already notified the future restrictions of interested countries and regions.

The official newspaper of the Central Committee of the CPC Zhenmin Zhibao clarifies that under the new rules you need to obtain permission to export drones with the following characteristics:

• the maximum battery time is more than 30 minutes, the maximum take -off weight is more than 7 kg;
• equipped with a throwing device;
• They can fly outside the natural visibility of operators.

In April, the Ministry of Trade of the PRC made a refutation of messages spreading in the Western media, according to which Chinese UAVs are used in battles in Ukraine.

In the spring of 2022, the Chinese corporation DJI (the world's largest manufacturer of commercial UAVs) announced that both the Russian and Ukrainian markets were leaving to prevent the use of its products for military purposes.
