In 1752 in Kursk (this, by the way, is quite far from the edges where we are going to go) on the site of the burned wooden church began to build a large-scale Sergiev-Kazan Cathedral. The architect was almost Bartolomeo Rastrelli himself, but this is not known for sure. Rather, one of his students. But it is known for sure who was in the construction of the contractor - a local merchant, the owner of several brick factories Isidor Moshnin. Isidore himself died before the construction was completed, and the widow Agafya continued the case. Russian merchants understood no less than husbands in business and no worse than husbands knew how to solve the problems of any complexity.
Agafya often went to the future temple - to monitor the progress of work on the spot. And took with her a little son, Prokhor. Once the mother did not notice, talking with ten, like a boy - he was about seven years old - he climbed through the forests for a hefty bell tower. And, to the general horror, stumbled, collapsed from a height down, a bunch of bricks from his father’s factories.
No one thought he would survive. And he just got up, a whole and unharmed, and ran to the frightened mother.
Prokhor Moshnin is the future Seraphim of Sarov, one of the most famous and popular Russian saints. The story of the bell tower is the first miracle among many miracles, which are narrated by his lives (there are several editions).
August 1 - the day of gaining the relics of the Monk Seraphim. On July 31, from the tiny Ardatov to Diveevo, where the most famous and richest Seraphim-Diveevo monastery is located, which the saint founded and which patronized, comes out the procession. 27 kilometers on the highway to catch the evening service.
One of my good friends there has its own special personal story, which we will not about, for that it is personal. But on this road he walked more than once, and this year, knowing about my addiction to hiking in his homeland, he also invited me. I agreed-firstly, really, I like to be vagrant : this is a special science, this is a special way to see . Secondly, the experience is completely new to me, and at the same time-for the Motherland, just extremely traditional. I had not had to go in the crowd of pilgrims before. Thirdly, you know, of course, summer, but inside-all the same damned February, and I am still trying to understand how we are all stuck inside this February. I am looking for an answer. Suddenly on the road from Ardatov to Diveevo - an answer?
I went, of course, and I will say right away, destroying the intrigue - I again did not find an answer. But I saw something.
