A relative of the British King of Charles III Alexander Bowz Lion organized an event for the Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska, who has been under US sanctions since 2018, writes The Sunday Times. According to the newspaper, in February 2021, the aristocrat arranged a businessman flight on a private plane and safari in Kenya.
Bowz-Lion living in New York was organizing the event as a top manager of the American branch of the British charity organization Space for Giants. This organization, among the trustees of which Prince William, is engaged in elephant protection. As The Sunday Times found out, Deripaska spent three days to the Suyan ranch in the Kenyan district of Laikypia, observing the life of lions, cheetahs and elephants. It is emphasized that you can get to this ranch only by invitation.
Deripaska flew to the capital of Kenya Nairobi on his airplane, accompanied by a bodyguard, butler and one of the top managers of Rusala, after which he moved aboard the rented Space for Giants and belonging to another British aristocrat-a member of the Lord of the Lords of the Lord Spencer. The Sunday Times turned to Lord Spencer for a comment, he told reporters that he was renting his plane through the Kenyan “Independent Charter Company” and he unknown the names of passengers flying.
The sanctions of the American Ministry of Finance suggest that citizens and residents of the country, as well as companies registered in the United States, are prohibited from participating in financial transactions and any transactions with persons submitted to the sanctions lists. The founder of Space for Giants Max Graham told The Sunday Times that neither the charity organization nor Alexander Bowz Lion never violated the sanctions “consciously and deliberately”. At the same time, he admitted that the representatives of Space for Giants were questioned in 2021 as part of a joint investigation of the FBI and the Ministry of Justice to bypass the sanctions of Deripaska and associated with him.
“We cannot confirm or refute that Space for Giants has violated or did not violate the US sanctions regarding the 2021 safari, given that no competent authority has never made decisions on this matter,” Graham emphasized. According to him, the charity organization was assured that it was not under suspicion. Space for Giants confirmed the receipt of money from Deripaska, but noted that the funds entered the accounts of the British, rather than the American branch of the company. Great Britain imposed sanctions against the Russian oligarch only in March 2022.
The Sunday Times traced the connection between Deripaska and Space For Giants until January 2018, when the Russian businessman was present at dinner in the London House of Greek Magnat Spiros Latsis. The honorary guest of the event was Prince William, and Deripaska was sitting at the table next to his personal secretary. The Space For Giants report for 2020 Rusal is mentioned among partner companies.
37-year-old Alexander Bowz-Lion is Charles III relative through his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, in the girlishness of Bowz Lion. The great-great-grandfather of Alexandra was the brother of Claude George Bowz Lion, Count Stratmor and Kinghorn, who was the father of Queen Elizabeth-the wife of George VI and the mother of Elizabeth II.
