“Citizen of the USSR” detained in Bryansk

Denis Brel is suspected of participating in the Citizens of the USSR movement.

In September 2023, an activist of the Citizens of the USSR movement was detained in Bryansk. A criminal case has been initiated under Part 2 of Art. 282.2 of the Criminal Code (participation in an extremist organization).

According to a media report, employees of the Bryansk Center “E” detained 39-year-old Denis Brel. According to the security forces, Brel has been a member of the local cell of the “Citizens of the USSR” movement since 2016; he published posts on social networks with the approval of Stalin and the Soviet army, participated in meetings of the organization, recorded videos about “Citizens of the USSR” and attracted new participants.
