“Azerbaijan has restored its sovereignty as a result of anti -terrorist measures” - President of the country

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev turned to the people of the republic and stated that during the day the “anti -terrorist operation” in Nagorno -Karabakh, his country reached all the goals, Report reports.

“I am sure that the Armenian population living in Karabakh will soon see changes for the better. Because our intention is to build a joint life on the basis of peace, mutual understanding and mutual respect. We have no problems with the Armenian people, we have no enmity, ”Aliyeva quoted Azertag.

He added that the leadership of Armenia, in his opinion, demonstrated political competence, and Aliyev appreciates this.

On September 19, Azerbaijan began shelling the territory of the Nagorno-Karabakh, controlled by the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic. Baku explained his actions by the “anti -terrorist operation” to “restore the constitutional system”. About a day later, with the mediation of Russian peacekeepers, an agreement was reached on a ceasefire.

It provides for the dissolution of the Nagorno -Karabakh army and the withdrawal of Armenia military personnel from the region.
