The attacks were against the militants of the Sudanese militarized organization of the “Power of Fast Reaction” (SBR), which until 2023 was subordinate to the country's authorities, and in April entered into an armed conflict with them. It is believed that they are supported by the mercenaries of the Wagner PMC.
CNN writes that these blows can become the "dramatic and provocative expansion of the theater of military operations" in Ukraine. It is noted that they were applied two days after the Wagnerians imported the load of weapons into Sudan through the “quick response forces” base near the city of El Zuru, which is located near the border of Sudan with a child.
In total, at least 14 beats were inflicted on the group of groups using FPV thrones. Also on one of the videos you can see “obviously foreign fighters” who conduct a raid in a certain building.
Wagner PMCs support the “quick response forces” in the fight against the Sudanese junta, who seized power in the country in 2021 (until 2023, the SBR leader acted at the same time with the juntists). According to CNN, previously such drones were not used in the conflict by either side. At the same time, according to the source of the publication in Sudan, about 90% of the weapon for the SBR is supplied by the Wagner group.
In 2023, the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Dmitry Kuleb made several trips to African countries. In a recent interview with AFP, he said that "Russia is trying to keep these states in its orbit through coercion, bribery and fear." He called the main tools of the Russian Federation in Africa the propaganda and grouping of Wagner. At the same time, he noted that Ukraine’s strategy is not to replace the Russian Federation on the African continent, but to “free it from the Russian grip”.
