The Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan made a statement in connection with the announcement of the ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh).
He said that Armenia did not participate in the negotiations of the NKR and Azerbaijan, as well as in the formation of the text of the ceasefire. The words of the authorities of the unrecognized republic that the Armed Forces of Armenia will be withdrawn from it are “incomprehensible” for him. However, he promised to take them into account, since Yerevan in August 2021 declared the absence of Armenian troops in the territory of Nagorno -Karabakh. Pashinyan called the mention of Armenia in the text of the contract by evidence that the country was trying to draw into military operations.
The Prime Minister of Armenia also commented on the information according to which the agreement was prepared by Russian peacekeepers. According to him, if this is true, then their shoulders lies with the obligation to ensure the safety of Armenians of the Nagorno -Karabakh.
Pashinyan noted that, according to the latest information that he has, the intensity of battles in the region has decreased significantly, and expressed the hope that military escalation would not continue.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan announced the suspension of hostilities from 12:00 in Moscow, reached as a result of an agreement with the authorities of an unrecognized NKR. According to him, as reported, the "Armenian forces" located in the region will be disarmed and withdrawn.
