Fine for “Last Call” in Transbaikalia

Semyon Chernikov was fined one thousand rubles under Art. 20.29 Code of Administrative Offenses for the prohibited track Oxxxymiron.

On September 19, 2023, the Mogochinsky District Court of the Trans-Baikal Territory fined one thousand rubles under Art. 20.29 Code of Administrative Offenses (mass distribution of extremist materials) Semyon Chernikova.

An investigator of the Center for Combating Extremism (CPE) of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs found the track “Last Call” by rapper Oxxxymiron in the “Music” section on his VKontakte page.

The song “Last Bell” is a description of a schoolboy’s fantasy about killing classmates who offended him. It was recognized as extremist material on October 25, 2022 by the Zamoskvoretsky District Court of Moscow. From our point of view, this decision was questionable, and we consider prosecution for distributing the Oxxxymiron track inappropriate.
