Foreign Ministry of Armenia: "The visit of the UN delegation to Nagorny Karabakh was used by Azerbaijan to promote propaganda views"

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia stated that the country “with deep concern and disappointment” perceived information about the visit of the UN delegation to Nagorny Karabakh and conclusions that were made by the delegation according to its results:

“The press release published after the visit is very biased and does not reflect the situation in the field: it does not indicate the facts of numerous sacrifices and wounded as a result of a large-scale attack by Azerbaijan, firing on civilian infrastructure, blocking the Lachinsky corridor for more than 9 months and arising from the humanitarian crisis, abduction of citizens with special services Azerbaijan at the illegal checkpoint located near the Hakari bridge, and other facts known to international partners.

The visit of the UN delegation, headed by the UN permanent coordinator in Azerbaijan, was used by Azerbaijan to promote its propaganda views, as well as the legitimations of a large -scale attack on Nagorno -Karabakh and its consequences. ”

The UN mission arrived at Nagorny Karabakh on October 1, by this moment the most part of the population of the former unrecognized republic had already left it.

As follows from the UN report, officials did not notice “visible damage” inflicted by civil infrastructure, including hospitals, schools, residential buildings and religious facilities. Meanwhile, the photo and video materials published by the inhabitants of Stepanakert in the period between the attack of the Azerbaijani troops and the outcome of the Armenian population indicate numerous destruction in the residential sector.
