Member of the Council for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights under Vladimir Putin Kirill Vyshinsky was appointed editor-in-chief of the propaganda radio Sputnik, the press service of Russia Today said . Before that, he served as the executive director of the media group.

Earlier, The Insider wrote that Vyshinsky was detained in Kiev in May 2018. He was accused of supporting the “DPR” and “LPR”, as well as in Gosizmen. Vyshinsky himself counted the accusations against his address and manipulation. He stated that during his work by the chief of RIA Novosti Ukraine, the SBU had never made him complaints.

At the end of August 2019, Vyshinsky was released from arrest. In September 2019, an employee of RIA Novosti returned to Russia as part of the exchange of prisoners between Moscow and Kiev according to the 35 to 35 formula. After a meeting with Putin Vyshinsky, they awarded the medal of the Order “For Merit to the Fatherland” of the 1st degree and the Prize of the Government of the Russian Federation.

Sputnik sites do not add the convenience and stability of work and numerous blocks in the EU countries and the former post -Soviet space, as well as problems with personnel - far from all journalists, for example, in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, as the interlocutors of The Insider, are ready to "serve the Russian propaganda machine in its combat against Ukraine."
