The Ministry of Labor announced the growth of demand for prostheses, according to the department, it will take at least 60–70 thousand prostheses per year. Against this background, the department prepared amendments to the law on the social protection of disabled people, writes the Baza Telegram channel.

According to the channel, the amendments are about uniform requirements for organizations that produce prostheses according to individual parameters. Such organizations should have medical rooms, workshops, as well as rooms where people will immediately be able to learn to use prostheses.

The explanatory note to the bill reveals statistics: so, the Ministry of Labor recognized that now about 50-60 thousand products are required a year, in the near future this figure will grow, as the department takes into account the regions of Ukraine annexed and captured by the Russian Federation.

"The predicted need for prostheses in the coming period is estimated in the amount of at least 60–70 thousand products per year, taking into account new regions."

The Ministry of Labor explained that mainly the legs of the legs are 88% of the total, 12% are hand prostheses.

At the same time, BAZA in its message claims that an increase in the number of prostheses is most likely “not connected with” his own, since individual purchases are underway for the military. However, in October, the Deputy Minister of Labor Alexei Vovchenko called the situation with amputation of the limbs to the participants in the war in Ukraine “a vivid problem”:

“Recognized by disabilities with amputation of the limbs are about 54% of all examined. This is a really bright problem, it is a lot. Among the civilian disabled people, of course, there is no such percentage with amputation, ”said Vovchenko.

In October, a 53-year-old resident of Yakutia, who lost his left hand in the war with Ukraine, the local authorities issued a metal stick instead of a prosthesis. Through familiar employees of the social fund (former Pension Fund), the family of a soldier found out that the authorities spent about 5 million rubles on this device.

In September, the BBC reported that Western companies supply components and microelectronics for prostheses to Russia, despite sanctions: they are delivered using gray schemes, importing through third countries. The 7x7 portal found out that since the beginning of the full -scale invasion of the Russian Federation to Ukraine, prices for prostheses from cheap materials in Russia rose by 20-50%. Companies performing state orders began to save a lot, as the Russian authorities ignore the increase in prices. At the same time, qualitative prostheses increased in price by more than doubled.
