In Adygea, the case of a colony prisoner for participation in the Right Sector has been brought to court.
At the end of December 2023, the department for the investigation of particularly important cases of the investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Republic of Adygea completed the investigation of the criminal case of a convict serving a sentence in a high-security correctional colony. He is charged under Part 2 of Art. 282.2 of the Criminal Code (participation in the activities of an extremist organization).
A criminal case was initiated based on materials from a joint inspection by the Russian FSB Directorate for the Republic of Adygea and the Russian Federal Penitentiary Service for the Republic of Adygea.
According to the investigation, the accused joined the extremist Ukrainian nationalist organization “Right Sector”, banned in Russia, and continued to participate in its activities while serving his sentence in a correctional colony “by promoting the ideology of the banned organization among prisoners.”
During the search, items of clothing depicting the symbols of the organization were confiscated from the accused.
The case with the indictment approved by the prosecutor's office of the Republic of Adygea was sent to the court for consideration on the merits.
