The Ministry of Justice of Russia has traditionally updated the register of “foreign agents” on Friday. The list got:

• Writer Grigory Chkhartishvili (Boris Akunin);
• The publication "Cold";
• The author of the Telegram channel Moscow Calling Andrey Kurshin;
• journalist Alexander Minkin;
• Former municipal deputy from Mari El Anton Sokolov.
  

The Law on "Ino -Agents" was adopted in Russia in 2012. Initially, the Ministry of Justice attributed to them non-profit organizations that receive funding from abroad and are engaged in political activities. Subsequently, the department began to recognize the media and individuals “foreign agents”, including those who do not receive foreign financing, but “are under foreign influence”. What exactly does the state mean by foreign influence, the law does not spell out.

Since the end of the summer of 2023, the number of “foreign agents”, which are one step from the criminal case, has grown sharply in Russia. This conclusion was reached by the publication of the Mediazon, having studied the protocols on a violation of the law on “foreign agents” in Russian courts.

It is possible to initiate a criminal case under an article on evading the execution of “foreign” duties if three protocols on violation of the relevant law are drawn up for a person. The most common violations are the absence of a dick and error in reports to the Ministry of Justice.

According to the calculations of the Mediazons, if in September 2023 “foreign agents” with two protocols there were a little more than 20, then by November there were already 57.
