On the territory of LLC “Shakhty Polyeshir Plant”, a fire occurred in the city of Shakhty Rostov Region, in which, according to the press service of the Russian Ministry of Emergencies and local authorities, nine people were injured.

The Governor of the Rostov Region Vasily Golubev said that the explosion is not connected with the arrival of drones and "air defense at that time did not work."

One of the employees of the enterprise, which was inside during the emergency, told Gazeta.ru that in front of the explosions, workers “hung on a nut” on a tap with acid, trying to fix it.

“They made a very strong blow, there was a bolt crack. The valve itself flew out, where the acid was, and it poured into the solution itself. At first there was a small light, then the gas was already gone, ”the eyewitness quotes.

The press services of the Investigative Department of the IC of the Russian Federation and the prosecutor's office in the region reported to journalists about the organization of inspections on the fact of a fire at the plant.

The Avangard LLC company launched production in June 2023. The construction of the plant started in 2019. In 2022, the Government of the Rostov Region and Avangard LLC signed an agreement on interaction in the implementation of the investment project. It was included in the list of “100 governor investment projects”.
