Residents of Omsk believe that the city does not need new religious buildings

On January 18, 2024, the results of a survey conducted in 2023, commissioned by the Omsk mayor’s office, on the attitude of city residents towards the construction of religious buildings became known. The majority of survey participants believe that new temples and mosques are not needed in the city.

The survey results were announced at a meeting of the City Council Committee on Social Issues. 90% of respondents believe that there are enough religious buildings in the city and the construction of new ones is not required.

The survey also touched on the topic of interethnic relations. 71.8% of participants believe that the interethnic situation in the region is calm, 76.3% have a positive attitude towards foreigners living in Russia.

The survey was conducted door-to-door in five districts of Omsk; one thousand citizens were interviewed.
