Poland actively builds fortifications on the border with Russia and Belarus, reports Rzeczpospolita.
In the Polish Ministry of Defense, the publication replied that the details of the construction of engineering fortifications are classified and are part of the “understood wide” plan of the defense department. In addition to building a shaft on the border with Belarus, which began after the 2020 crisis, when the Lukashenko regime tried to send a large number of illegal migrants to Poland, other objects intended for its defense are built.
In addition to Poland, it is known that they strengthen the border with Russia of the Baltic country, as well as the Czech Republic, near the Kaliningrad region. Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia are building the “Baltic line of defense” east. It includes reinforced concrete bunkers, machine gun nests and positions for artillery. Similar work is carried out by the Czech Republic on the approaches to the Kaliningrad region.
It also became known that on February 2, the Polish Air Navigation Agency (Pansa) at the request of the military issued a resolution according to which NATAM N0604/2024 will operate from February 5 to May 5, 2024. It warns about the possible activity of military aviation east in response to the “situation on the eastern border”. It may require "unplanned military operations related to ensuring national security."
