
Pskov photographer Dmitry Markov died. This was reported by the Pskov Province Publishing House with reference to his friends.
Markov was 41 years old. The causes and circumstances of his death are not called.
The photographer moved to the Pskov region from the Moscow Region in 2005 as a volunteer, he collaborated with many federal media. Markov made sketches about life in the regions of Russia.
On February 2, 2021, Markov took the then famous picture in which the riot police sits under Putin's portrait. This photograph was taken during a court session, where Alexei Navalny's conditional term in the Yves Rocher case was replaced by the real one. On that day, Markov was detained and delivered to the police department, where he photographed riot police. This picture became a symbol of the persecution of Navalny. Subsequently, it was sold at auction for two million rubles.
