
The chairman of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, Vyacheslav Lebedev, died, reports Kommersant. He died in Moscow, he was 80 years old.
According to Telegram channel 112, recently he was in the hospital. Lebedev headed the Supreme Court of Russia since 1991, and since 1989 he was the chairman of the Supreme Court of the RSFSR. Province.ru reports that he died on February 23 at about 23:45.
Lebedev’s activity was awarded the State Bedes, on August 14, 2023, Putin awarded him the Order of the Holy Apostle Andrei the First -Called. The Russian president noted his "impeccable work." The causes of death have not yet been named, the time and place of farewell to it will be announced additionally.
The Telegram channel “VChK-OGPU” states that the cause of Lebedev’s death was an oncological disease.
