The head of Rostec: the new Russian tank "Armata" is more powerful than all tanks in the world, but it is too expensive for use in war

The latest Russian tank T-14 Armata is much more powerful than all existing tanks, but it will hardly be applied in hostilities in Ukraine. This was the General Director of Rostec State Corporation Sergei Chemezov informed RIA Novosti agency.

The head of Rostec explained this decision by the high cost of this technique:

““ Armata ”, she, in general, is expensive. By its functionality, it, of course, is far superior to existing tanks, but too expensive, so its army is unlikely to use it now. It’s easier for them to buy the same T-90s. ”

Chemezov also noted that the military-industrial complex needs new weapons:

“Now you need money in order to create new tanks, new weapons, more, maybe cheap. Therefore, if there is an opportunity to buy cheaper, why not. ”

At the same time, the head of Rostec said that "the latest T-14 T-14 Armata tank is in service with the Russian army." Earlier, Russian State Agencies reported that the tank was used against Ukrainian troops.

The T-14 Armata tank is the latest development in the field of Russian tank building, which used advanced technologies and powerful weapons. For example, it has combined multilayer reservation, new dynamic protection "Malachite" and a complex of active protection "Afghanit". It is also able to use new controlled missiles up to 8 km. The tank began to be developed in the early 2021 at the Ural Design Bureau of Transport Engineering.
