Rostov resident fined for video with FBK symbols

The reason for the persecution was the publication of a story about Navalny’s poisoning.

On March 4, 2024, the Leninsky District Court of Rostov-on-Don fined Igor Krasnoshtan one thousand rubles under Part 1 of Art. 20.3 of the Administrative Code (propaganda or demonstration of symbols of an extremist organization).

On December 14, 2020, Krasnoshtan published on his Odnoklassniki page a video with the symbols of the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK), namely a story about the poisoning of Alexei Navalny entitled “The case is solved. I know everyone who tried to kill me." Krasnoshtan explained to the court that he later tried to delete the video recording, but he was unable to do so.

FBK, the Foundation for the Defense of Citizens' Rights (FZPG) and Navalny's headquarterswere recognized as extremist organizations on June 9, 2021. The decision to ban came into force on August 4, 2021. In our opinion, the court did not have sufficient legal grounds to ban Navalny’s organizations as extremist. Therefore, we regard the prosecution for demonstrating the symbols of Navalny’s structures as unlawful.
