On April 11, 2024, in Noginsk near Moscow, the Trinity Church, which was under the jurisdiction of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, was demolished.
The court decision to demolish the temple as an illegal building was made back in 2016, when the parish considered itself to be part of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Kyiv Patriarchate).
The parish tried to appeal this decision all the way to the European Court of Human Rights, but in 2022 the ECHR found the demolitionlegal and the parish’s complaint inadmissible.
