Openai introduced the new GPT-4O language model, which is able to talk with a person in real time

Openai has announced a new flagship model of generative artificial intelligence called GPT-4O, where “O” means OMNI. The developers say that the model can process text, speech and video and will be available to users within a few weeks.

According to the technical director of Openai, the GPT-4O provides intelligence of the GPT-4 level (the previous language model of the company), but improves its possibilities in terms of interacting with the user and the world around it. He called it "the future interaction between people and machines."

GPT-4O significantly improves experience with the Openai chatbot based on artificial intelligence, ChatGPT. The platform has long been offering the voice mode that converts the chatbot’s answers from the text to speech, but the GPT-4O allows people to communicate with it as a real interlocutor.
