The head of the Taxi LLC, whose bus fell on May 10, fell into the Moika River, was arrested by decision of the Oktyabrsky District Court of St. Petersburg, the press service of city courts reports . Jahangira Khalilova is accused of providing services that do not meet security requirements. The Investigative Committee in the release reports that “the indicated person was assigned the responsibilities of monitoring compliance with labor and transport discipline, including the working and rest regime of work activities at Taxi LLC”. As a result of the incident, seven people died.

The UK also confirmed the information that the driver of the Rakhmatshokhu Kurbonov fell into the river of the bus for several days did not ensure the necessary rest time. The driver was also previously arrested. His wife said that Kurbonov was forced to go to work after a 20-hour shift, so he had less than five hours to sleep. Kurbonov also said that the bus had problems with the brakes - he did not immediately stop. At the same time, the driver pleaded guilty and apologized to the relatives of those who died: “I repent of the deed - in the fact that I managed the bus with a faulty brake system. I bring my condolences, I understand that this is a huge grief. ”

A second criminal case on a fictitious registration of foreign citizens was also brought against the driver. According to investigators, in February-March 2024, 44-year-old Rakhmatshokh Kurbonov fictitiously fictitiously registering at least 10 foreign citizens in his apartment.

Taxi LLC itself over the past two and a half years was fined 23 times for the implementation of entrepreneurial activities in the field of transport with a gross violation of the terms of the license worth a total of 3.6 million rubles. For 25 years, the company was headed by a friend of the head of the Council of Council, the former Governor of the city of Valentina Matvienko Tatyana Kalyuzhny, “Important Stories” reported . In 2021, the company won seven state contracts for the transportation of passengers by road on city routes on 2022–2028.
